Here we are, October 2026.

We are already down to the last quarter of the year.

2026 has been a blur. It seems like January was only yesterday, and yet so much has happened in between. The pace has been relentless. Opportunities opened up, plans changed, certain situations reversed course, and more than a few decisions ended up carrying far more weight than they first appeared to. We have practically been galloping our way through the year at full speed. Year of the Fire Horse indeed!

And I find myself going back to the forecasts I made at the beginning of the year, including my 2026 forecast for Malaya Business Insight. There is something particularly revealing about reading a prediction months later, after enough life has happened around it. The astrology has not changed, but your vantage point has, simply because you understand more clearly where you have been, how it is playing out now, and where you may be headed next.

And one of the major themes of 2026 has just started unfolding, and it is quickly becoming impossible to ignore.

Venus turned retrograde in Scorpio on Oct. 3, and this is BIG news. Many are already feeling it. I have been seeing it all over social media, and I also wrote about it for both PhilSTAR L!fe and GMA News. People have been messaging me about what has been happening to them, particularly in relationships, and clients have been coming in for readings because situations they thought were already settled have suddenly started surfacing again.

October was never going to be quiet astrologically, and we start the month with Venus retrograde, making the relationship landscape even more complicated, revealing, and difficult to dismiss.

What makes the song feel so apt for Venus retrograde is that the problem is not uncertainty in the abstract. The signs are already there. The plans are already in motion. Expectations have already been set. The harder question is whether you are willing to admit that what you once chose may no longer be what you want now.

That is very Venus retrograde.

It brings us back to what we have already invested in, committed to, assigned value to, tolerated, or defended, and asks whether those choices still hold up under closer scrutiny.

And in Scorpio, the stakes can become much more complicated because the review touches trust, attachment, financial entanglements, desire, loyalty, emotional leverage, control, and the private bargains we make in order to keep something intact.

But this week does not stop at reassessment.

Do Something Different

Mars in Leo sextiles Uranus in Gemini on Oct. 7, and this supports the boldness to do something different, even if it means making a scene.

“The table’s set, the guests are waiting / You can burn the dress and run away.”

Quite a performance… If you actually do it.

But Mars in Leo can be exactly that bold, dramatic and willing to make the move, while Uranus in Gemini introduces the unexpected idea, the sudden pivot, or the option nobody was considering before.

Sometimes changing the outcome means being willing to step outside the script completely.

What You Already Know

Somewhere in between work, readings, writing, classes and everything else, one of the things I have also been indulging in lately is music. I like playing my favorite songs on the speakers and letting them fill the entire condo while I work or go about my day.

One artist who has been on repeat on my playlist is singer-songwriter Ashe. I’ve been following her since before she became popular, and aside from the melodies and production, it’s the way she phrases a line that really makes her songs hit the spot. They are painfully relatable, sometimes dramatic, sometimes cutting, sometimes vulnerable, but never in a way that feels emotionally hollow.

She has a knack for putting into words the thoughts people are having but may not want to admit.

And by now, you’ve probably heard the song “Stop the Wedding!”

One line in particular has been circling in my head: “The warning signs are flashing now.”

Relationships may be the most obvious storyline, but Venus also rules money, value, possessions and what we consider worth investing in, so the same review can play out well beyond romance.

A New Beginning, But Not a Clean Slate

Then comes the Libra New Moon on Oct. 10.

And this is where I would be careful with the usual “New Moon, new beginning” interpretation.

Yes, Libra rules relationships, agreements, reciprocity and the way we meet another person halfway. But this New Moon is ruled by Venus, and Venus is retrograde. So whatever begins now does not arrive untouched by what came before. It carries memory, history, unfinished business, changed standards, and whatever Venus retrograde has already forced into view.

Sometimes the new beginning is not a new person. It is a new set of terms.

Sometimes it is realizing that you still want the relationship, but not at the same emotional price. Or that you still want the opportunity, but not under the same arrangement. Or that what once felt romantic, fair, desirable, or worth fighting for no longer passes the same test.

And now there’s another Ashe song that comes to mind: “Funeral.”

The title sounds almost like an ending, but the song itself points somewhere very different. It imagines the person you can actually see yourself ending up with. I like the irony of that, because retrogrades are often treated the same way. On the surface, they can look like reversals, delays, endings, complications, or old problems returning. But the point is not always loss. Sometimes the review is what clears enough noise for you to recognize what is actually worth keeping.

That distinction matters this week.

What Happens When Desire Pushes Back

Venus retrograde in Scorpio squares Mars in Leo on Oct. 11, and whatever has been simmering underneath can become much harder to contain.

Scorpio does not easily let go of what it is attached to, while Mars in Leo does not like backing down. Desire, pride, control, loyalty or old resentments can quickly bring the same pressure points back to the surface.

And because both signs are fixed, knowing what needs to change does not automatically make changing it easy.

That may be the real test of the week.

The warning signs may already be there. The real question is whether knowing what you know now changes what you do next.
